- 4:1 my be typical for certain file types, but it is _not_ a hard and fast
- limit for V.42bis compression. In particular, certain text files and many
- DBF files (which are mostly spaces) can compress much better. Then again,
- wherever possible, it's always better to compress (i.e. ZIP) files _before_
- transmission.
